There are New Jersey Transit train stops close by in Hazlet and Middletown. The Acdemy bus line runs from PNC Art Center to NYC. Many residents choose the ferry, which is faster, and a lovely commute although a bit more expensive. Ferries from the Highlands or Atlantic Highlands, are about a 15-20 minute drive from Holmdel, take 40 minutes to get to Manhattan and travel year-round. Driving to the city takes just under an hour.
